Catalog description

This course offers a non-technical introduction to modern artificial intelligence tools and practices. It covers an overview of the following topics: the nature of computation, the historical development of AI, the Chomsky hierarchy, tests of intelligence, natural versus artificial intelligence, individual vs. collective intelligence, illusions of intelligence, language models, knowledge representation, constraint satisfaction, societal implications of AI, responsible use of AI tools, and prompt engineering.
