Research Methods in Music Theory

Catalog description

This course introduces students to current trends, epistemologies, and research methods in music theory. Students will learn recent disciplinary history, engage with a broad cross section of current research, position their own research interests in a rapidly expanding field, and create a proposal for original research. A passing score on the graduate theory examination is required. Prereq: Grad standing.
