This course introduces students to basic functions of the financial sector and provides an overview of the services and regulation of the industry. Topics covered include charters, insured depository institutions, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, insurance, mutual funds, and regulation of investment advisers, broker/dealers, and retirement savings.
