Independent study in Special Education. Prereq: Permission of instructor. Repeatable to a maximum of 12 cr hrs or 12 completions. This course is graded S/U. 5222 Working with Paraeducators U G 1½ Paraeducators are important members of the educational teams who serve students with disabilities. In this course, future special education teachers will learn about roles of paraeducators, a teacher's responsibilities in training and supervising paraeducators, strategies for fading paraeducator support, and approaches for resolving common problems that arise when supervising paraeducators. Prereq: 5283, or permission of instructor.
