Introduction to structure, nomenclature, physical properties, preparation and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, epoxides, aldehydes and ketones. Other topics include stereochemistry, acids, bases, and reaction mechanisms. Prereq: 1220 (123), 1620 (163), or 1920H (203H); and Chemistry or Biochemistry major, or permission of Department. Not open to students with credit for 252.
