Catalog description

Introduction to fundamental atmospheric forces and equations and their conceptual interpretation, quasi-geostrophic theory, and application to the development, evolution, and prediction of large-scale atmospheric systems including midlatitude cyclones, frontal development and positive feedback loops with the upper atmosphere. Prereq: A grade of C- or above in 5201, Math 1151 and Physics 1250. Not open to students with credit Geog 5941.
