This course is focused on providing an overview of the basic characteristics of common and emerging diseases that are shared between humans and animals; these diseases are defined as zoonotic. Prereq: AnimSci 3170, 3270, or Micrbio 4000, or equiv., or permission of instructor. 5918 Communicating Disease Prevention at the Veterinary- U G V 2 Agriculture Interface This course is intended to provide a foundation for disease prevention, antimicrobial resistance/antimicrobial stewardship, and science communication. There will be an emphasis on the role of agriculture and veterinary professionals in issues relating to production animal health.
