Inequality This course examines the nature and dimensions of poverty and inequality in the U.S. and across the world, considers individual and social consequences of poverty, and examines historic and contemporary approaches to ameliorating poverty including review of major poverty and social welfare policy and programs. Focuses on helping students understand why poverty matters to social workers. Prereq: Soph, Jr, Sr, or Grad standing, or permission of department.
