Fundamentals of jazz improvisation; seventh chord structures major, minor, pentatonic and blues scales; jazz patterns and phrasing; analysis and improvisation of blues and II-V progressions. Prereq: 2221. Not open to students with credit for 209. 2210 Ohio State Show Band U ½ - 2 The Ohio State Show Band is a commercial music ensemble that produces tour quality shows and performances. This band also incorporates an arranging assistant, production assistant and sound tech. The shows feature guest artists and include live video, automated lighting, and dance. Repeatable to a maximum of 16 cr hrs or 8 completions. 2215.01 University Symphony Orchestra U ½ - 2 The University Orchestra is an 85-piece orchestra of full instrumentation devoted to the preparation of standard and modern literature. Prereq: Admission by audition. Repeatable to a maximum of 24 cr hrs or 12 completions.
