Advanced Clinical Skills - Genetic Counseling Specialties

Catalog description

This course will focus on skills needed to provide genetic counseling for the main indications in specialty genetic clinics. Genetic counseling will be explored in the context of chart review to establish or validate a phenotype, case preparation, medical and family history analysis, risk assessment and counseling, differential diagnosis, offering appropriate testing options, interpreting results, and psychosocial issues. Prereq: 7000, 7020, and 7040.
