Mediterranean Food Cultures

Catalog description

Considering it more than a biological necessity, this course approaches food as a way of approaching a region's cultures in an ever-changing world of human and environmental interactions and explores how concerns over agricultural sustainability thus translate into concerns over cultural specificity. Students will examine Mediterranean cuisines through literature, film, music, and social media. Prereq: Not open to students with credit for 2061 or Italian 2061.
