Severe Reading Deficits: Moderate/Intensive Information on how to effectively instruct reading to children with reading disabilities. Students will be paired with an urban learner who is significantly below basic reading level for his/her grade. Prereq: 5734 or 5734.03, and 5736 or 5736.03; or EduPAES 5734 (734), and 5736 (735); or Grad standing in Special Education: Moderate/Intensive. Coreq: 5189.03. Repeatable to a maximum of 6 cr hrs. 5739 Teaching Math to Students With Disabilities U G 4½ Course designed to teach pre-service teachers effective instructional strategies for elementary learners (K-6) with mild to moderate disabilities. Students will be taught methods for diagnostic assessment and monitoring student progress as well as concurrently adjusting instruction based on data to meet student needs. Prereq: 3251 and 3252.
