Intended for PhD students who completed the required sequence of first-year courses in microeconomics & econometrics.The class will provide students with methods & skills necessary to evaluate economic studies, carry out rigorous research, & translate research for use by policy makers & other members of the public. Students will learn about important elements of the scholarly research process. Prereq: 7140, Econ 8714 and 8732; or permission of instructor. Not open to students with credit for AEDEcon 8103. Repeatable to a maximum of 4 cr hrs.
