This course explores Hip Hop music, touching upon its historical background and providing a concise overview of the associated culture. While a primary focus of this course will be Hip Hop music, participants will develop an understanding of Hip Hop culture, focusing on its primary elements (DJing, B-Boying, Graffiti, and Emceeing). Prereq: Not open to student with credit for Music 2050. Cross-listed in Music.
