Sports Writing

Catalog description

Write about sports as participants, fans and cultural critics, building a complex understanding of sports, its place in our culture, how sports writing persuades and how sports writing teaches us about ourselves. Students learn to write about sports in a variety of forms, including the column, beat report, personal narrative, sports poem and profile. Cannot earn credit in both EN 254 and WRIT 254. 3 Lecture hours. Prerequisites: EN 102, or EN 111 or WRIT 111. Offered: Spring, odd years.
