Catalog description

Examines the nature, classification, and treatment of psychological disorders across the lifespan. Students will explore major categories of psychopathology, including mood, anxiety, personality, and psychotic disorders, as well as the biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to their development. The course also introduces diagnostic frameworks, contemporary approaches to treatment, and ethical considerations in the study of mental health. Prerequisite: PY 110 or PY 211. Offered: Fall, Spring.
