Catalog description
This 100 hour 2 credit clinical provides the opportunity to apply theoretical and simulation based knowledge to direct patient care across acute and chronic settings. Students deliver safe, evidence based, person centered care for adults with health alterations involving the musculoskeletal, endocrine, immune, integumentary, gastrointestinal and genitourinary systems. Emphasis is placed on clinical judgment, collaboration and prioritization of care within interprofessional teams. Students advance in their ability to apply leadership principles, evaluate outcomes, integrate technology and reflect on professional growth. Restriction: Nursing, Junior or higher. Prerequisites: Grade of C+ or higher in all of NURS 217, NURS 217L, NURS 217S, NURS 206, NURS 206S, NR 211, NR261. Corequisite: NURS 316. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
