Bridging Theory and Practice in Academic Nursing Seminar

Catalog description

This seminar course provides graduate students with a comprehensive exploration of the intersection between theory and practice in academic nursing. Students will apply research, theory and evidence to align educational strategies with institutional missions and goals. Key topics include change management, policy development, diversity, equity, inclusion and fostering professionalism and civility. Students will design and implement a capstone project addressing a critical issue in nursing education. Additionally, the course includes an analysis of budgetary processes in academic nursing programs to ensure effective resource allocation. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to lead innovative improvements in nursing education, grounded in evidence based practices and interdisciplinary teamwork, to elevate the quality and impact of nursing education. Prerequisites: NR 723 and 723L. Grade of B or higher. Corequisite: NR 725L. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
