Interprofessional Nursing Leadership Practicum

Catalog description
This practicum course provides students with an immersive, hands-on experience to apply Clinical Nurse Leader CNL competencies in real-world healthcare settings. Students will actively engage in interprofessional collaboration, applying leadership strategies to improve patient outcomes across microsystem and macrosystem levels. Through direct involvement, students will implement resilience building strategies, manage conflict within healthcare teams and lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and organizational sustainability. The practicum emphasizes using evidence-based practices, data analytics and informatic tools to drive cost-effective solutions and optimize care transitions, preparing students to lead innovative healthcare improvements in diverse clinical environments. This course includes the completion of 200 practicum hours. Prerequisites: NR 722 and NR 722:. Grade of B or higher. Corequisite: NR 724. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
