Interprofessional Nursing Leadership Seminar

Catalog description

This seminar course equips graduate students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as Clinical Nurse Leaders CNL's in complex healthcare environments. Through an exploration of interprofessional leadership, students will analyze the CNL's role in enhancing collaboration and improving patient outcomes at both microsystem and macrosystem levels. Key topics include strategies to promote resilience, self-care and conflict management within teams, the application of quality improvement and safety principles and the integration of evidence-based practices to optimize care transitions and patient safety. Students will also leverage data analytics, healthcare finance and informatics to drive cost-effective, evidence-based decision making. This course emphasizes in CNL's leadership in fostering sustainable, high-quality healthcare systems. Prerequisites: NR 722 and NR 722L. Grade of B or higher. Corequisite: NR 724L.
