Facilitating Learning and Fostering Professional Growth Practicum

Catalog description
This practicum prepares graduate students to implement dynamic, evidence-based teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning environments. Students will implement innovative, active learning methods, integrate educational technologies and adapt approaches based on diversity and social determinants of learning. The course emphasizes developing clinical judgment, reflective thinking and fostering safe, supportive learning environments. Key topics include effective assessment across cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains, constructive feedback and promoting interprofessional collaboration. By the end of the practicum course, graduate students will be equipped to foster caring relationships, apply personalized educational principles and mentor learners' professional growth within evolving academic settings. This course includes the completion of 100 practicum hours. Prerequisites: NR 671, NR 671L and NR 698. Grade of B or higher. Corequisite: NR 721. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
