Catalog description

This course prepares graduate students to implement dynamic and evidence-based teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning environments and student needs. Students will explore innovative, active teaching and learning strategies, adapt approaches to accommodate diversity and social determinants of learning and integrate educational technologies to enhance learner engagement. Participants will develop clinical judgment and reflective thinking practices in their learners while fostering safe and supportive learning environments. The course covers effective assessment across cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains, along with providing constructive feedback, promoting interprofessional collaboration and supporting professional development. By the end of this course, graduate students will be equipped to lead in the development of innovative educational practices and foster the professional growth of their learners in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment. Prerequisites: NR 671, NR 671L and NR 698. Grade of B or better. Corequisite: NR 721L. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
