Catalog description
This course equips Clinical Nurse Leader CNL students with the essential leadership skills and innovative strategies necessary to drive transformational change in healthcare settings. Students will explore the integration of technology, quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare delivery. The course covers strategic planning, ethical leadership and interprofessional collaboration with a focus on promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging DEIB within the healthcare environment. Through practical applications, students will learn to develop business cases, evaluate return on investment and lead initiatives that align with organizational goals and ensure sustainability. By the end of this course, students will be prepared to assume leadership roles that foster innovation, improve care quality and advocate for safe patient-centered care across diverse healthcare systems. Prerequisites: NR 670, NR 670L and NR 698. Grade of B or higher. Corequisite: NR 720L. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
