Foundations of Healthcare Leadership Practicum

Catalog description

This practicum course provides Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) track graduate nursing students with a practical introduction to the role of the CNL. Students will apply concepts of ethical decision making, social justice, health equity and social determinants of health in planning patient care in the clinical practice setting. Students will utilize data analytics and healthcare technologies to identify gaps in care and support integration of quality improvement initiatives that promote equity in healthcare. Students will participate in team leadership and interprofessional collaboration to foster positive patient outcomes in the clinical practice setting. 50 Practicum hours. Corequisite: NR 670. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
