Catalog description
This course provides essential knowledge for nurse practitioners related to the various nonpharmacological modalities used in the treatment of mental health disorders. Topics explored in this course include various types of therapies, complementary and alternative treatments, as well as electroconvulsive therapy and transcranial magnetic stimulation. By the end of this course, students will be prepared to apply nonpharmacological treatment modalities to treatment planning processes upon entering the clinical setting. Prerequisites: NR 598, NR 601, NR 602. Grade of B or higher. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
