Catalog description

This culminating course prepares students for entry into professional nursing practice through synthesis of knowledge, application of evidence, and development of professional identity. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, leadership, ethics, quality improvement, and interprofessional collaboration in complex healthcare systems. Students engage in NCLEX-RN preparation and a comprehensive nursing content review that reinforces foundational and specialty nursing concepts. Simulation, case-based analysis, and adaptive testing strategies are used to enhance clinical judgment, readiness for licensure, and transition to practice as a professional nurse. Restriction: Nursing, Senior level. Prerequisites: Grade of C+ or higher in all NR 416, NR 416L, NR 431, NR 431L, NR 331, NR 331L, NR 341, NR 341L. Corequisite: NR 421L. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
