Emphasizes the theoretical and conceptual foundations of nursing leadership and management across diverse healthcare systems. Students explore professional identity formation, ethical leadership, civility, and advocacy while developing skills to promote safety, quality, and equitable care. Through case analysis, policy exploration, and self-reflection, learners apply systems-thinking, communication, and change strategies to enhance team effectiveness and organizational outcomes. The course promotes engagement in professional activities and encourages leadership that advances health, prevents harm, and upholds a culture of respect and accountability. Restriction: Nursing, Junior or higher. Prerequisites: Grade of C+ or higher in all of NR 225, NR 316, NR 316L. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
