Catalog description
This course provides an overview of the pathophysiology of selected conditions focusing on the etiology, pathogenesis, physiological changes and clinical manifestations of common health problems. Analysis of the sequences of changes leading to various disease states within the main body system will be coupled to the specific principles of preventions, diagnosis and treatments. Emphasis will be placed on making pathophysiology accessible to students so that they can begin applying the concepts in their clinical work while continuing to study throughout their careers. 3 Lecture hours. Prerequisite: BI 215 and BI 216. Grade of C+ or higher. Restriction: Nursing majors or Director permission. Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer.
