Client Psychological Mental Health Problems

Catalog description

This immersion course teaches students how to apply current theory and research about contemporary practices in care of patients with mental health and social health problems. Students demonstrate the use of self as a therapeutic tool and focus on a holistic approach to assessment and care of persons with psychological issues and selected psychiatric disorders and conditions. Students will provide care to patients with mental health and social health problems and their families as part of the interdisciplinary health care team. Restriction: Nursing majors. Corequisite: NR 215.
