Mechanical Systems Design

Catalog description

This course is a continuation of ME 213 with an emphasis on the design and realization of mechanical engineering systems, components or processes. Topics include problem definition, establish requirements and specifications with constraints, explore alternate solutions and evaluate solutions against requirements, detailed design solution with engineering analysis, materials selection and manufacturability and prototype fabrication testing and evaluation. Students work in teams on a semester-long design project. Prerequisites: ME 213 and EG 301. Offered: Spring.
