Mechanics and Materials Laboratory

Catalog description

This course is intended to reinforce the concepts learned in Mechanics of Materials and Materials Science through hands-on experiments. Students will learn standard methods for measuring the properties and behavior of engineering materials and the effect of heat treatment on the properties. The course introduces measurement techniques, interpretation of experimental data and comparison of measurements to numerical/analytical predictions. 3 Lab hours. Prerequisite: EG 203, EG301 or concurrent enrollment. Offered: Spring
