Hacking the Humanities

Catalog description

Students will explore and apply research methods used in humanities fields such as English, communications, history, philosophy, writing, and world languages to a series of projects. They will engage in conversations about why the Humanities matters in public life, learn to position their work within existing critical discourse and debates, and strengthen transferable skills that are valued across professions, such as analysis, effective communication, collaboration, and presentation. Through guided research activities, workshops, and peer review, students will formulate a research question and plan that can serve as the foundation for an independent research project, a summer fellowship, or a Capstone project. Requisite: Sophomore or higher. Offered: Fall, Spring.
