Provides the knowledge and skills required of the American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist; ACSP-EP, in conjunction with HHPR 408 Applications in Exercise Testing and Prescription. Applied Experience in the form of service learning will enhance course content understanding through real world application of required skills. Emphasis will be placed on establishing an understanding of clinical exercise physiology to develop safe, evidence based exercise prescriptions for clinical populations within the ACSM-EP scope of practice. 3 Lecture hours. 2 Lab hours, 1 hour in instruction and 1 hour in service application. Prerequisite: HHPR 202 and HHPR 301. Offered: Spring.
