Catalog description

Remote sensing involves the use of data acquired by remote devices to detect information. Fields using remote sensing include ecology, land and water management, earth science, disaster relief, intelligence and military science. Course topics include data acquisition and image processing, electromagnetic radiation, multi-spectral and lidar sensors, change detection and classification. Classes apply remotely sensed data from across disciplines to address genuine problems. Prerequisites: ES 115. And, one college math course MA 100:499 or completion of MA 095 with C or better or placement into MA 107 or Ma 232. Offered: Fall odd years.
