Catalog description

A survey of major literary texts dealing with the theme of leadership. Both advocacy and critique of these ideals are examined; contrasts among them emphasize the ethical implications of leaders' decisions. Topics include relationships among leadership, religion, and philosophy; leadership and technology; the role of coercion or political/economic power; and the potential conflicts of leadership and individual freedom. A recommended literature course for fulfillment of General Education or Bachelor of Arts degree requirements in literature, Arts and Humanities.
