Virtual Design Construction Emerging Technologies

Catalog description
A career preparation course in construction management and civil engineering by advancing skills in virtual design and construction (VDC) and AI-enhanced design optimization. Students build on prior BIM knowledge to created integrated project simulations that cover scheduling, costs, logistics, safety, MEP systems, and clash detection, while gaining hands-0n experience with industry software such as Revit, Navisworks Manage, GIS, and InfraWorks. Through collaborative, project-based learning, students develop technical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills to lead technology-driven projects and contribute to senior capstone work. Students with credit in EGCM 399: VDC, are not eligible to enroll in this course. 3 Lecture hours. 1 Lab credit. Prerequisite: Grade of D- or higher in EGCM 210.
