Violent Crime and Behavior

Catalog description

An interdisciplinary examination of violent crime, the psychology of violent behavior, and the role of trauma, environment, and social systems in shaping violent offending. Theoretical explanations for violence are analyzed, exploration of behavioral and situational risk factors, and evaluate diverse forms of violent crime including interpersonal violence, group violence, serial and mass violence, and state of systemic harm. Prerequisite: Grade of B or higher in CRIM 501. Offered: Fall, Spring.
