Catalog description

For students interested in careers in law enforcement, investigations, the military or graduate professional study, this course provides valuable skills and knowledge that enhance professional preparation. Specifically, this course introduces students to the field of criminalistics and provides an overview of the may specialties within forensic science, including crime scene investigation, evidence collection and analysis, and the interpretation of scientific findings in the criminal justice context. Students will gain insight into how forensic techniques are applied to real world cases, developing a practical understanding of the role forensic science plays in solving crimes and supporting the pursuit of justice. Prerequisite: CRIM 101. Offered: Fall.
