Environmental Crime

Catalog description

Environmental criminology provides a platform for debate and discussion of theories, laws and policy and preventative approaches to subareas including environmental law enforcement and environmental harms and crimes such as wildlife trafficking and poaching, illegal pollution, fishing or mining, threats to biodiversity, species extinction and climate change. Students will explore relevant criminological theories, conceptual tools and domestic and international laws needed for a deeper understanding of environmental crime and prevention. 3 Credit hours. Prerequisite: CRIM 101 or CJ 101. Offered: Spring.
