Catalog description
Students will examine how individuals, families and communities experience crime, what needs are created as a result of crime and how service providers can best meet the needs of those impacted. Through an examination of supplemental system responses for victims including advocacy, crisis intervention, support, prevention/intervention programs, and policy. Students will analyze the strengths and limitations to approaches used to meet the needs of victims. Credit will be earned once for CJ 300 Victim Services and CJ 322 Victim Services. Prerequisite: CJ 101, Grade of C or higher or Permission of Instructor. Offered: Fall
