Chemistry for Engineers

Catalog description

Survey of general chemistry topics that focuses on the properties of materials and molecular substances, examining aspects such as atomic-level structure, electronic structure, chemical and physical changes and energy transformations. It also explores how these concepts relate to fundamental engineering principles and their practical applications. You will develop essential language, problem solving and critical thinking skills that are important for engineers who utilize chemistry or collaborate with chemists in their field. Prerequisite: Math placement into MA 107 or higher. Offered: Fall, Spring.
