Animal Behavior

Catalog description

Students will learn about ethology, the study of behavior from a biological perspective. Topics include communication, sensory modalities, genetics, reproduction, predator-prey interactions, nervous system evolution, endocrinology, game theory and personality. Lectures are pared with discussions of primary research articles. The laboratory component of this course is student-driven research, including work in the field. 3 Lecture hours and 2 Lab hours. Prerequisite: BI 226 or PY 314. Offered: Fall odd years.
