Catalog description
A survey of microbiology geared toward students with little or no prior coursework in biology, with emphasis on microorganisms of medical significance. Fundamentals of microbial structure, physiology and control are considered along with the role of pathogenic organisms in the infection and disease processes. 4 credits: 3 Lecture and 2 Lab hours (BI 220L). The final grade for the lab will be calculated with the lecture section. Cannot earn credit for BI 320, i.e. mutually exclusive. Corequisite: BI 220L. Offered: Spring.
