Students progress along the first steps towards acquiring basic communication skills in American Sign Language including interpersonal, interpretive and presentational. A comparative approach to the beliefs, values and attitudes between Deaf and Hearing communities and cultures is emphasized. For students with little or no previous exposure to sign language. 4 Lecture hours. Offered: Fall.
