Catalog description

Elective Course. This course is designed to supplement basic pharmacological concepts introduced in the first year of the associate degree nursing program. Pharmacology is integrated throughout the nursing curriculum; however, this course will serve to enhance students’ knowledge and clinical reasoning by providing a review of drug classifications and focusing on the role of the professional nurse in the safe and efficient administration of medications to adult clients with a variety of medical-surgical conditions. This course incorporates both face-to-face and online instructional modalities. Recommend after successful completion of NUR 1109 . Prerequisite: Admission to ADN Nursing Program; Clock hours:45 theory
