Catalog description
This course introduces students to basic patient care skills, including patient positioning and draping, treatment area preparation, transfers, wheelchair management, and foundational data collection skills. Principles of wound care are also covered, including wound and burn types and integumentary conditions, stages of healing, treatment approaches, dressing selection, and strategies for the care and prevention of pressure ulcers. This course is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the fundamental skills required in a clinical setting while emphasizing the development of appropriate professorial behaviors. This course requires a grade of C or higher.
