Vocal Ensemble II

Catalog description

Vocal Ensemble II is a performance-based course for members of Voices of Northwest Florida State College, a select small vocal ensemble. Students study and perform a diverse repertoire spanning patriotic, gospel, a cappella, and popular music styles, with an emphasis on developing advanced ensemble musicianship, blend, balance, and vocal precision. The course also cultivates leadership skills through opportunities for peer mentoring, section leadership, and collaborative musical decision-making. Instruction also focuses on stage presence, performance etiquette, and professional standards appropriate for collegiate and community performance settings. Students As part of the course, students engage in regular public performances both on campus and throughout the community. Enrollment is open to part-time and full-time students through a required audition process.
