This course introduces the principles of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety within the hospitality and culinary industries. Emphasis is placed on the National Restaurant Associations ServSafe® Food Protection Manager Certification content and the Food and Drug Administrations Food Code. Students develop a foundational understanding of quality sanitation management, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety procedures essential for food service operations. At the end of the course, students will take the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager exam to demonstrate mastery of food safety and sanitation principles Gold Standard Career Pathways Articulation Agreement Industry Certification to Associate Degree Program - This statewide articulation agreement guarantees the minimum award of 3 college credits toward the Associate in Science or Associate in Applied Science degree named herein.
