Catalog description

This course emphasizes the development of intermediate contemporary dance technique, focusing on refined movement execution, vocabulary, phrasing, and performance quality. Students deepen somatic awareness and technical control through practice, improvisation, and exploration of dance forms. Historical and cultural contexts of contemporary dance are also examined to enrich understanding. Coursework includes performance, research, and individual projects, culminating in the creation and presentation of a choreographic study demonstrating artistic growth and conceptual clarity. May be taken up to four (4) times for credit
