Catalog description

A rigorous integration of algorithmic theory and professional software engineering practice. Students explore advanced optimization techniques—such as Dynamic Programming, Graph Search, Map Reduce, and Greedy Algorithms—while applying industry-standard development methodologies to prove their solutions are robust. The curriculum emphasizes that a good solution goes beyond mere correctness; it must be efficient, readable, and maintainable. Students will refine their problem-solving methodology, balancing mathematical precision (Big-O analysis) with industry-standard coding practices to deliver software that is both scalable and engineered for reliability. Prerequisite: INTC 4243 - Data Structures and Algorithms
